Introduction
Our research group at Memorial University of Newfoundland is using GLS and PTTs to track the migration of Northern Gannets from 4 of their 6 North American colonies. We are investigating how they use ocean habitat, which marine areas are most important for them and how they are affected by climatic and anthropogenic influences.
Project Partners
This project is coordinated by Memorial University of Newfoundland and supported by Environment Canada and Canadian Wildlife Service. Other Northern Gannets tagged with our partners at Cape St. Mary's, Newfoundland during September 2010 can be found at this SeaTurtle page: Northern Gannet 2010
Project Sponsors
An NSERC Research Tools and Instrumentation Grant provided funds for the satellite tags. A donation from Mr. Alex Dalziel to Memorial University of Newfoundland supported SeaTurtle.org in making the data publically available.
