Introduction
Juvenile turtles recruit at Mantanani from their post-hatchling neritic drifting years at some 30 cm in CCL and reside there for some 5-6 years and they subsequently depart to secondary foraging grounds - presently unknown. This project will track small (40-60 cm CCL) green turtles as they depart Mantanani to identify the location of the secondary foraging areas. For conservation to be successful, we aim to inform governments and conservaiton agencies of the connectivity of marine habitats with this work.
Project Sponsors
This project is funded in part by the Mohammed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, the Forestry Bureau of Taiwan, and the Shell (Malaysia) Foundation.
