Background
Another windy night, another feisty lady.... Athena is a small hawksbill turtle sponsored by Deutsche Bank which emerged during a Shamal wind on the evening of the 23rd, but it was not until after midnight we managed to get the transmitter safely attached. She managed to lay her eggs on the windswept beach out in the Gulf, and measured in at 67.5 cm in curved carapace length. She now has two tags provided by our partners at the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (L0061 EAD and R0062 EAD). The signlas she sends us through the satellite transmitter will help us identify her migration routes and the location of her primary feeding grounds, and any other behavioural traits along the way.
