Background

On July 9, 2004 “Bogue" was admitted to the Topsail Sea Turtle Hospital, grossly underweight and covered in barnacles. This juvenile loggerhead was found in distress in Bogue Sound by vacationers and residents of Morehead City, North Carolina. Bogue gained more than 30 pounds before being released on June 8, 2005.
