Background

On April 22, 2004 “Atlantic II” was admitted to the Topsail Sea Turtle Hospital after being plucked from the Atlantic Ocean near Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. A total of 4 loggerheads were rescued that day, but only 2 survived to be released. Atlantic was treated for infection, and was released from Topsail Beach on June 8, 2005.
