Background

On June 7, 2004 “Obey” was admitted to the Topsail Sea Turtle Hospital after stranding at Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. Healthy she should have weighed 300-375 pounds, but Obey weighed only 150 pounds when she was admitted. Obey is a mature female loggerhead sea turtle and should be ready to nest! After gaining the required weight (and strength) Obey was released from Topsail Beach on June 8, 2005.
