Background
Kenzo is one of two loggerhead turtles released with satellite transmitters on February 5, 2006 from the port of Pucusana in central Peru. Kenzo is named after the child of one of our Pro Delphinus staff. The turtle was caught incidentally by the longline fishing vessel Emmanuel and its captain Miguel Cuentas. Kenzo had become hooked while the vessel was fishing for mahi mahi. The crew was able to bring him aboard, remove the hook and safely release him.
