Background
This bald eagle is a full time resident of the Chesapeake Bay region. Bay bald eagles rotate between the Bay tributaries in search of seasonally available prey like fish and waterfowl. We captured this eagle using a noosed floating fish which safely snares the eagle by the foot. After fitting the eagle with a solar powered GPS transmitter, we released it on the shoreline of the Bay.
