Background
This was the first leatherback turtle tagged during the 2008 expedition. She had a curved carapace length of 156 cm and a curved carapace width of 110 cm. She was tagged with a Kiwisat 202 platform terminal transmitter (PTT) specially designed by Sirtrack for attachment to leatherback sea turtles. Following the attachment of the satellite transmitter flipper tags were applied to the rear flipper area. Left tag was ASF 14458, right tag was ASF 14459.
