Background

Archie Pelago was one of six Australian flatback turtles tagged with a Mk10-AF Fastloc PTT at Eighty Mile Beach in Western Australia for the 2011 nesting season.
Flipper tagged for the first time, her left tag was WA83859 and the right tag WA83867. She measured 89cm (CCL) and 76cm (CCW) and laid 51 eggs.
The attachment of the harness and transmitter deployment was conducted by Research Assistants Anna Mueller, Tony Dingwall and Glenn McFarlane.

The name Achie Pelago was provided by students from Karratha Primary School in the Pilbara. These students will be monitoring Achie Pelago as she travels around this part of the Indian Ocean.
