Background

Huracan was accidentally captured on December 11th in the Embudo Channel (Bahia Blanca estuary) by a shrimp boat named "Margarita". Laly and his crew found the turtle in the net and inmediatelly called people from PRICTMA and brought it to the port of Ingeniero White. After checking that Huracan was healthy and stocky a satellite transmitter was deployed on it. Huracan weight 13.5 kg and measured 47 cm of carapace length. One week later, it was released from the sailboat "Haiku" near the place where was found.

Huracan fue capturado accidentalmente el 11 de diciembre en el Canal del Embudo (estuario de Bahia Blanca) por un barco camaronero llamado "Margarita". Laly y su tripulacion encontraron a la tortuga e inmediatamente llamaron a miembros del PRICTMA y la llevaron al puerto de Ingeniero White. Luego de confirmar que su estado de salud era bueno se le coloco un transmisor satelital. Huracan peso 13.5 kg y midio 47 cm de largo de caparazon. Una semana mas tarde, fue liberado desde el velero "Haiku" en cercanias del lugar en donde fue encontrado.
